I am a professional performance photographer based out of Chicago. For the past 16 years I’ve been pursuing the art of photography, which is my life’s passion. My work deals primarily with musicians and their fans at concerts and festivals, although lately I’ve found myself with a growing interest for nature and architecture as well. I realized my love for photography when I began shooting at Grateful Dead shows in the early 90’s. The pictures back then were mostly of my friends and I having fun in the parking lot, but that’s when everything just sort of ‘clicked’. My love for music, photography, and travel soon intertwined, and taking pictures took on a whole new dimension, becoming more than just a simple hobby. I had discovered my life’s pursuit. And I’ve been following my dream ever since. I do photography because I love it and it brings me joy and happiness like nothing else I have ever done. It’s like trying to capture moments through the mind’s eye. It’s taking points of interest or things that I love and trying to capture it to share with others. Although most of my experience is with concert photography, I’m open for shooting anything that’s interesting and fun! I’ve done promo work for bands as well as for CD’s and websites. My work has been featured in Relix magazine,Guitar Player Magazine and on websites such as Glidemagazine.com, 10klf.com, WEFest.com, Setlists.com, Jambase.com jambands.com Relix.com Alwaysacoustic.com and also on Jambands.com, where I won a contest for Best Amateur Photographer in 2003. Some of the bands I’ve worked with include Cornmeal, Family Groove Company, Fareed Haque, Old Shoe, Goose Doctor, Just Infinite, Danny Burns Defectors, and Mike Edwards. I’ve also photographed over 700 bands such as the Rush, The Who, Roger Waters, Foo Fighters, Mandy Moore, Eric Clapton, Willie Nelson, Buddy Guy, Ronny Wood, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Keith Urban, The Dead, Ratdog, Phil Lesh & Friends, String Cheese Incident,Government Mule, George Clinton and Parliament Funk, Hot Buttered Rum, Keller Williams, moe., Widespread Panic, and Umphrey’s McGee.
